Why We Built This Site
Colorado gives the public access to many court and government records, but Chaffee County records are not stored in one local database. Chaffee Combined Court handles District Court and County Court records in Salida. The Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder handles recorded documents and marriage licenses through Salida and Buena Vista offices. The Sheriff's Records Division handles law-enforcement reports, local criminal-history records, and related criminal-justice records.
That split can be confusing for people who need a docket, certified court copy, marriage record, divorce decree, sheriff report, jail custody confirmation, or municipal traffic information. The site focuses on matching each record type to its official office, portal, phone path, and request process.
